Caroline neemt je mee op ontdekkingsreis door de wereld van de kalligrafie. We kozen ervoor ons te focussen op het Chancery (Kanselarij) schrift, een handschrift dat in de middeleeuwen werd ontwikkeld om snel, helder en elegant te schrijven voor correspondentie. Het Kanselarijschrift combineert efficiëntie met schoonheid en vormt een ideale basis om kalligrafie te leren begrijpen.
De letters ontstaan uit vloeiende bewegingen die snelheid en leesbaarheid in evenwicht brengen. In deze eerste workshop leggen we de fundamenten; in Workshop 2 bouwen we het alfabet verder uit.

Caroline vous emmène à la découverte du monde de la calligraphie. Nous avons choisi de nous concentrer sur l’écriture Chancery (écriture de chancellerie), un style développé au Moyen Âge pour écrire rapidement, avec clarté et élégance, notamment pour la correspondance. L’écriture de chancellerie allie efficacité et beauté et constitue une base idéale pour comprendre la calligraphie.
Les lettres naissent de mouvements fluides qui équilibrent vitesse et lisibilité. Dans cet premier atelier, nous posons les fondations ; lors de l’Atelier 2, nous poursuivrons le développement de l’alphabet.

Caroline invites you on a journey into the world of calligraphy. We chose to focus on the Chancery script, a hand developed in the Middle Ages to write quickly, clearly, and elegantly for correspondence. The Chancery script combines efficiency with beauty and offers an ideal foundation for understanding calligraphy.
The letters emerge from flowing movements that balance speed and legibility. In this first workshop, we lay the foundations; in Workshop 2, we continue developing the alphabet.
